Jose Luis Herrera is a professional with experience managing visas for the family reunification program and U.S. passports (for children born in the United States who live in Mexico). His involvement with AMEXCAN began in 2014 as a volunteer; in 2017 he served as a social service intern, then as a coordinator through 2020, and he is currently the Binational Director of Operations and Family Reunification. “What I like about my work is being in contact with families and being able to accompany them throughout the entire process until their visa is approved.” His role in the association is important because he is also involved in communications, the María Peralta Pérez Foundation, and proposing strategies across AMEXCAN’s program areas. He also helps the team create strategies to increase reach through collaboration agreements with universities and municipal governments. His work is 30% virtual and 70% in the field. José Luis is known for his dedication to providing respectful service to people, his vocation for service, and his fairness.
