Amigos Sin Fronteras creates safe, welcoming spaces where children and teens can learn, grow, and build friendships across cultures. The program blends academic enrichment with arts, recreation, and social-emotional support, helping students feel connected and supported inside and outside the classroom.
By fostering belonging and cross-cultural understanding, Amigos Sin Fronteras strengthens students’ confidence, school engagement, and sense of community—breaking down barriers that too often isolate immigrant and Latino youth.
Niños del Futuro is dedicated to raising awareness about early childhood programs and services for Latina families in Eastern North Carolina. The program works to reduce adverse childhood experiences by connecting parents and caregivers with high-quality early education, health, and support resources.
Through in-person and virtual meetings, Niños del Futuro builds a network of Community Promoters who share information, guide families through registration processes, and ensure that young children have access to programs that support their development, safety, and well-being from the earliest years.
Padres Unidos por la Educación empowers parents to advocate for their children within North Carolina’s public schools and extracurricular programs. We provide tools, training, and resources that help families understand their rights, communicate effectively with educators, and participate actively in school decision-making.
The program also creates spaces for collaboration among parents, teachers, and community partners, building an inclusive educational environment where every child—regardless of language or immigration status—can access quality learning and enriching opportunities year-round.
Double Bridge is AMEXCAN’s ESL program for Spanish-speaking community members who want to strengthen their English skills for school, work, and daily life. Through interactive oral, written, and listening activities, participants build confidence using English in real-world situations.
Grounded in a bicultural approach, the program values Spanish as an asset while helping learners navigate English-speaking environments. Classes also create space for cultural exchange and community connection, so participants improve their language skills while expanding their support networks.
Líderes del Futuro cultivates the next generation of Latino leaders in North Carolina. Through workshops, mentoring, and community projects, the program helps youth build confidence, strengthen their academic skills, and explore college and career pathways.
Participants learn about leadership, identity, and community responsibility while connecting with role models who share their experiences. The goal is to ensure that Latino youth see themselves not only succeeding in school, but shaping the future of their communities.
