August 2026 Magazine: NCLRN Anniversary

August 18, 2026

August marks the midpoint of the beautiful summer season we enjoy year after year. This is a special time, as major changes occur in the daily routines of people across the United States and Mexico. Typically, the school year begins, and future leaders head to class to gain the academic training and valuable knowledge that will equip them to navigate life’s various challenges. In this edition, we wanted to specifically highlight the importance of participation and enrollment among students of Latinx descent in U.S. public schools. By doing so, we address and dispel common misconceptions while shedding light on the vital role the Latinx community plays in public education. We are also pleased to welcome back Dr. Antonio Barrera for a special segment sharing key insights on psychology, mental health, and the importance of personal well-being. We highly encourage you to read this material, as we are confident you will find it both engaging and incredibly useful. Finally, we feature our "Huellas AMEXCAN" (AMEXCAN Footprints) section—documenting the past month’s activities and their impact—alongside our "Upcoming Events" section, a great resource for staying informed about our organization's future initiatives.
